- To use the Internet effectively, you're going to need:
- 1. A hard disk.
- 2. More memory.
- 3. An OS upgrade to 2.x or better, preferably 3.1
-
- A real bare minimum would be a 40MB hard disk, 2-3 Megs of RAM, and OS 2.x
-
- This would allow you to use AmiTCP / IW225 / AS225 (for a true Internet
- connection), FTP, News, Mail programs and ALynx (a text based Web browser).
-
- If you want any more than that, such as graphical Web browsers, you'll have
- to upgrade to WB 3.x, and probably get more memory and a faster processor
- (though these programs are _just about_ usable on a 68000).
-
- As it is, you're going to be stuck with using a text terminal program which
- may give you access to FTP, News and Mail, depending on the services your
- ISP offers. Things are pretty painful that way, though.
